Sencha is lightly or medium-steemed green tea.

Ingredients (for 1 person):
1 heaped teaspoon of organically grown deep-steamed green tea leaves (about 2 to 3g)
200 to 250ml of hot water

Hot water 250ml
Pasta (penne, macaroni, etc.) 100g
1 consommé cube
1 small can of tuna
Water 100ml
Milk or soy milk 150-200ml
1 slice of melting cheese
Grated cheese 1 tablespoon
Lemon (optional)
Pepper (to taste)

Method:
1. Brew the tea in a teapot, take out the tea leaves and drain.
Please refer to the article How to brew sencha (steamed green tea) on this site. Put aside the tea to drink later.
2. Drizzle a few drops of lemon juice over the used tea leaves. This helps prevent discoloration of the tea leaves.
3. In a pot, add the pasta, consomme cube, canned tuna (including the oil), water, and milk. Cook over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Once the pasta reaches your desired level of tenderness, add the melting cheese and stir until it melts.
5. Serve the pasta on a plate and sprinkle with grated cheese. Add pepper to taste, if desired.

*Tea leaves contain caffeine. The diuretic, stimulant and anticancer effects of caffeine intake are clinically recognized. On the other hand, excessive intake of caffeine may have a damaging effect on health. Especially, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children should be careful with the amount of caffeine they intake.
