History of Kogane-midori:
Kogane-midori is a product name of green tea which is cultivated and produced in the tea garden of Kogane-Midori. Kogane means golden and Midori means green in Japanese.
The current owner of the tea garden, Mr. Sato’s father, accidentally found the mutated yellow sprouts. He named it “Kogane-midori” and it took more than 30 years to make saplings and increase the number of golden tea trees to create the “Kogane-midori Tea Garden.”
Flavor:
When the tea is brewed in cold water, it has little bitterness and a moderate flavor, with a rich aroma and sweetness like mango.
Hojicha (roasted green tea) which is made of Kogane-midori has a distinctive aroma and has little bitterness, and tastes like chestnuts.
You can enjoy the Kogane-midori and the beautiful tea garden. Reservation is required on the website of Tea Terrace Chanoma.
