Wild tea (Thailand)

Tea is classified into six categories: green tea, white tea, yellow tea, blue tea (Oolong tea), black tea, and dark tea. This Site introduces various teas that CHAMART has drunk.

Production area: Mae Kampong Village, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Flavor: Simple and natural flavor with a slight sweetness. If brewing a strong tea, it tastes like black tea.
*CHAMART forgot to ask about the tea processing method when CHAMART visited the village.

Mekampong Village is a small village at about one hour’s distance of travel by car from Chiang Mai. The village is a very popular tourist place in Thailand and many young people visit the village. There is a waterfall and there are cafés, restaurants, etc.
Tea plants grow wild here and there in the village.
Processed tea and deodorizers using dried tea leaves are sold as souvenirs. Additionally, Miang which is post-fermented tea is also made and sold in the village.
